Users Online

SMF Login Features

The SMF login has 2 different dialog boxes. One in the header:

And the other (shown below) will show if:

1. You click on "Login" in the menu...
2. Try to access something you are not allowed to...
3. Have TinyPortal installed and have the User Block enabled (this will look a bit different but has the same settings and features as the image below)...

Let's take a look at the settings of the logins. Depending on which you use you will need to set the time that you wish to be logged in accordingly. If you find that you need to login again after a certain time has elapsed or get a "Session timed out" or a "Session verification" error you may have exceeded the time you have set during your login. If using the login below then set your time in the drop-down box accordingly BEFORE clicking on the Login button.

If using the other login box (as shown in the image below) use the instructions below.

1. Change the setting for the amount of time you expect to be online. If you are not sure set it to a ridiculously high time (in minutes) or you may get a Session timed out" or a "Session Verification" error.

2. Make sure that this is checked if you are not sure how long you wish to be logged in. Changing the options in "1." above will not matter if this is checked. You will always be logged in until you "Logout".

Notes: Please be kind to sites you frequent. If you stay logged in "Forever" or "Always stay logged in:" without logging out you will always be shown as being online. This may cause users to believe that you are currently online. If they pm you or reply to a post they may think you are ignoring them which is not good netiquitte.

Enjoy!!!
