Make sure
your logo is on every page of your site.
Remember
to make your logo clickable, linking to the main page of your site.
The reason
for doing this is that if your visitors get lost they can always come back
to the main page.
Use
graphics that have been optimized for the web. Use only .gif and .jpg
formats. If the pictures are too large, use a graphic optimizing tool. They
can reduce the weight of your pictures by more than 50% with no noticeable
loss in quality. Another thing you can do is to use thumbnails. A thumbnail
is miniature version of a picture that most times are made clickable to the
larger picture.
Try to
minimize the use of animated banners or fancy icons. They usually take away
from the content of your site and may distract your visitor.
Try to
make your pages short and to the point. Most people don’t want to read a
long drawn out page. Use hyperlinks to present a summary of the topic or
article, this will give your visitor an option to view the full article or
go on to what interest them most. If what you have to say in a particular
subject is too long, break it into several parts, with a link to where your
visitor can continue reading.
The
ultimate goal is to give your visitor fast access to your information.
