Ways to Kill a Forum or Website

I visited a site where I kept getting redirected to an ad page; this is a turn off to visitors as well as members. I would not advise using this on a forum or a web page. If someone is on your site it is because they are interested in seeing what you have to offer or they are there to contribute to you forum. If you redirect them to ad pages the visitor or member will look for a site that will be more accessible.

Also having a site that is so full of ads that you cannot tell the content from the ads is a good way to kill your forum and/or site as well.

We all know that a visitor is the primary source of new members to a forum and repeat visitors to a site. It is what keeps a forum and a website alive. While I do understand that ads may pay for your site it does you little good to have them if you run away all your visitors and potential members.

Being overly strict as to how your members should ask and/or reply to a question and/or comment is a good way of losing the interest of visitors and members alike.

While I do believe in guidelines I just do no agree with ones that more or less turn your members comments into the reply that you want to hear instead of the reply they want to give as well as questions.

The freedom to answer questions and post comments in their own unique style are what most people, if not all are looking for when they join a forum.
